India loses their last 4 quick before inflicting a lethal bowling display on the Aussies.

Adelaide:  India earlier carried on from where they started and lost their last 4 wickets for just 11 runs with Cummins and Starc dong the onus. With a total of 244 on the board, it looked to be not enough to take a lead against an inform Australian sides with the likes of Steven Smith and his synonymous, Marcus Labuschagne whose defenses are considerably difficult to break, especially in their backyard. Australia ‘s attacking Warner was replaced by the limited overs wicket keeper, Mathew Wade along with Rory Burns who has had a dominating records in Tests and OdIs.

With the initial spell of Bumrah and Umesh, Australia took 28 deliveries to get off the mark, after which they had the momentum, till they lost Wade at 8, at 1/ 16, that brought in Labuschagne on the crease. It was not few over down, that BUmrah striked Joe Burns with a leg side Yorker, where the Australia review did not go in favor of Burns.

With 2/28, Australia was in a similar situation like that of India, but became worse, when one of the Pillars, Steven Smith  nicked it to slip of the good length spin delivery of Ravichandran Ashwin, putting Australia at the back foot at 3 for 45. India at this point of time had the upper edge and went hard at the batting line up of Australia, with Ashwin taking charge from the middle, catching the ball of his own delivery to get rid of Travis Head, followed by the catch at Silly Mid on by Virat Kohli, putting India at a dominant position by the Tea break, with a score of 5 for 92.

Tim Paine was witnessing a batting collapse, after his partnership with Marnus ended with him getting trapped before the off stump, followed by a lethal bouncer of Umesh in the same over to keep Australia at 7 for 111. At this point, just as when Tim Paine was starting to feel to lose support, he counter attacked bowlers and took Australia past 150, after a sloppy run out of Mitchell Starc. Nathan Lyon was still supporting his captain, with his signature sweep shots and a pull shot  over mid on that gave him two boundaries.

This partnership was hurting Kohli and his men that induced him to get on Ashwin the leading wicket taker back on track and trick Lyon into playing a shot over mid on that was covered by Kohli and gave India their 9th wicket. With a score of 167/9, Australia still trailed India by 76 runs. Paine to narrow the margin of lead, and went on take strike, not giving too many deliveries for Josh to attempt and avoided middle over singles and waited on the last ball to change strike.

Just when the situation was a heavy burden for Paine, Josh smacked back to back boundaries, one a straight drive and the other a lofted drive over mid on, that gave Paine some confidence to play his natural game.

Hazelwood lost his wicket at the start of the 72nd over after a good stride by Pujara to complete a stunning catch.

At the start of the second innings of India, Prithvi failed to show his skill, by getting out in a similar fashion this time to Pat Cummins, and his strong of low performances goes on. The Night Watchman Bumrah won the hearts of the captain and Pujara, after his defending 11 balls, that of Cummins and Starc.
