The regulation was passed to regulate the game of arrow shooting and the sale of Teer tickets legally so as to avoid any allegations for disobeying the protocols. Meghalaya Amusements and Betting Tax (Amendment) Act of 1982 controls the betting game of Meghalaya currently. 

The number of arrows hit should not be more than fifty and less than thirty and in each round the total number of arrows used should be between two hundred and seven hundred in numbers. 

The distance between the shooters and the target should be between 15.21 meters and 30.48 meters. The target size should be 66 cm to 127 cm in circumference and 61 cm to 102 cm in height. The time to complete each round should not be more than five minutes.
